WLEC Extends Cleveland Indians Coverage Through 2020
1450 AM WLEC has extended its affiliation agreement with the Cleveland Indians for an additional five years through the 2020 season. The Sandusky affiliate is the longest continuous tenured station in the Cleveland Indians Radio Network.
WLEC signed on air in December of 1947 and immediately began carrying Cleveland Indians games during the 1948 season, in which the Indians won their second World Series title. 2016 will mark the 67th year of Cleveland Indians baseball on 1450 AM WLEC.
Sports Director, Mark Fogg, is excited to continue to bring Indians coverage to listeners adding, “It’s great to be the longest running affiliate and we’re proud to continue our coverage to our faithful North Coast listeners.” WLEC will also once again feature News Director, Steve Shoffner, and Pregame show host, Troy Baumgartner, with live coverage at Cleveland Indians Spring Training in Goodyear, Arizona.
The Cleveland Indians open up the season playing host to the Boston Red Sox at Progressive Field on Monday, April 4. All the coverage of Spring Training, Opening Day, and the 2016 baseball season can be heard on 1450 AM WLEC, Sandusky, Ohio.
