WLEC offers local news and information at the top of the hour each weekday morning and afternoon and also during the noon hour with news director Steve Shoffner.

WLEC also offers state news throughout each weekday and on Saturday mornings from The Ohio News Network (ONN).

WLEC is affiliated with the NBC radio network and provides national news and information at the top of every hour, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week whenever we are NOT in or transitioning out of any sports or specialized programming.

News Director Steve Shoffner has been on the air at WLEC since 1994 and he can currently be heard not only on WLEC, but also on our sister stations Mix 102.7 FM (WCPZ), Coast Country 100.9 FM (WMJK) and AM 1600 (WTTF) in Tiffin.

The News Department also produces our public affairs program, North Coast Journal.  This long form interview program offers conversations with area news makers and regional topics of interest.  For more information head to the North Coast Journal tab.
